FEBRUARY 9TH PUBTALK TO FEATURE PRESIDENT AND COO OF EDGE WIRELESS

FEBRUARY 9TH PUBTALK TO FEATURE PRESIDENT AND COO OF EDGE WIRELESS

The next Central Oregon PubTalk will be Thursday, February 9th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at McMenamin’s Old St. Francis School in Father Luke’s Foundation Room (Parrish Center, 720 Bond Street, Bend). The event is open to both Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) and OEF members (cost is $15) and non-members (cost is $25). To register for the event, please visit www.edcoinfo.com or contact pubtalk@edcoinfo.com. Presented by Economic Development for Central Oregon in partnership with OEF, PubTalks are sponsored by Ball Janik LLP.

PubTalk will feature keynote speaker Donnie Castleman, President and COO of Edge Wireless.  Mr. Castleman is responsible for overseeing all of Edge Wireless’ customer affecting and technical operations, defining the vision for Edge Wireless, corporate strategy and cultivating opportunities for Edge Wireless to continue to grow as the premiere wireless communications provider.  During his tenure, Edge Wireless has become a top provider for rural communities throughout Idaho, Wyoming, Southern Oregon and Northern California. In 2005 Edge Wireless was named the number one large company to work for in Oregon, according to Oregon Business magazine’s annual “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon” survey.  It is the third year Edge Wireless has been ranked among the best companies in the state in this survey.

Prior to co-founding Edge Wireless, Mr. Castleman served as Regional President and General Manager of Triton Cellular Partners LP.  Mr. Castleman served as Senior Vice President of Operation for Blue Mountain before it was acquired by Triton in 1999.  Prior to Blue Mountain, Mr. Castleman spent two years with AT&T Wireless Services as General Manager for the central Oregon region and five years with McCaw Cellular Communications as a Market Manager.

PubTalk will also feature an early stage company presentation by John Barney, co founder of Cricket Tools, a new company that designs Electronic Monitoring Equipment used by law enforcement agencies to safely monitor offenders in their residences instead of keeping them in jail.  Early stage presentations, which follow the keynote speaker, provide new or start-up businesses a venue to receive feedback on products, services, marketing strategy or other integral components of the business. Presenters share ideas, experiences and strategies for success with other businesses, angel investors, and EDCO/OEF members.

Central Oregon PubTalk is a monthly event celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship in Central Oregon and strives to provide a unique forum where leaders of growing businesses can network with qualified funding sources, fellow entrepreneurs, key advisors, and business professionals.

Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) is a private, non-profit membership organization dedicated to building a strong and secure economic future for Central Oregon. EDCO has been co-sponsoring the popular PubTalk events for the last year and a half as part of its mission to cultivate a strong entrepreneurial community in Central Oregon.  To learn more about the Central Oregon PubTalk and EDCO visit www.edcoinfo.com
