The June PubTalk will also feature a student from OSU Cascade’s New Ventures class, a senior-level course in entrepreneurship in which students write business plans for start-up ventures, will present his/her business plan at PubTalk as a means to gain “real-life” experience presenting to an audience of investors and business professionals. OSU–Cascades Campus and Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) partnered to develop an innovative new program connecting business students at Oregon State University’s Cascade Campus with local entrepreneurs. The program provided students with hands-on business experience and offered Central Oregon entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop well-defined business plans for their ventures. In this program, students and local entrepreneurs were given an opportunity to be “matched” to help both achieve their goals. Central Oregon PubTalk is a monthly event celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship in Central Oregon and strives to provide a unique forum where leaders of growing businesses can network with qualified funding sources, fellow entrepreneurs, key advisors, and business professionals.
