JAN 11th PUBTALK FEATURES AMY TYKESON, PRESIDENT & CEO OF BENDBROADBAND

Early Stage Presenters are Co-Founders of SUN Biodiesel


Central Oregon’s lively PubTalk series kicks off the new year on Thursday, January 11th, 5:00 to 7:30pm. The event is at McMenamins Old St. Francis School, in Father Luke’s Foundation Room, located at Parrish Center, 720 Bond Street in Bend.

PubTalk is presented by Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) in partnership with Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum (OEF) and sponsored by Ball Janik LLP and Community First Bank. PubTalk features keynote speaker Amy Tykeson, President and CEO of Bend Broadband.  Tykeson will share best practices, innovations, and “lessons learned” from the helm of this family owned and operated company. For the benefit of the PubTalk audience, Tykeson will discuss technology and programming initiatives and what they mean to consumers and businesses alike. Passionate about building community, Tykeson will also talk about BendBroadband’s role in giving back to Central Oregon.

Tykeson’s cable career began with HBO in 1980; she’s been CEO of BendBroadband for a decade, adding presidential duties two years ago. She serves as President of OCTA (Oregon Cable Telecommunications Association Board) and is Vice President of the Tykeson Family Charitable Trust. Past experience includes the Young President’s Organization; Vice Chairman of the Catlin Gabel School Board of Trustees; University of Oregon Alumni Association Board.
Tykeson holds a BS and MBA from the University of Oregon.

January PubTalk also features an early stage company presentation by SUN Biodiesel Corp.  Incorporated in February 2006, SUN was formed specifically to produce and distribute biodiesel products in central and southern Oregon. Co-founders Dan Davis and Dale Porter have extensive backgrounds in power production by alternative energy and conventional means. As a renewable, clean, and locally-generated energy source, the biodiesel market is poised for significant growth.
