Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) is a private non-profit corporation founded 26 years ago. We're dedicated to building a vibrant and thriving regional economy in Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties. Our goal is two-fold:
- Attract high quality, new investment and traded-sector jobs (manufacturing, professional, headquarters and high technology businesses) through marketing and recruitment
- Provide substantive assistance to existing companies to help them expand.
EDCO has operated a successful economic development program in Redmond for 5 years, launched a satellite office in Prineville to cover Crook County a little over a year ago, and in September 2008 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jefferson County to implement a similar program there.
