JANUARY 13TH PUBTALK MOVES TO MCMENAMIN’S AND
FEATURES PRESIDENT AND COO OF BEND RESEARCH
INC.
The first Central Oregon PubTalk of 2005 will be held next Thursday, January
13th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The popular monthly event has
recently found a new home at McMenamin’s Old St. Francis
School property in Bend. PubTalk will be located in Father
Luke’s Foundation Room (McMenamin’s Parrish Center,
720 Bond Street) and is open to both EDCO and OEF members (cost
is $15) and non-members (cost is $25). Registration for
PubTalk can be done online at www.oef.org or at the
door. PubTalks are co-sponsored by Economic
Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) and the Oregon
Entrepreneurs Forum (OEF).
PubTalk
will feature keynote speaker Rod Ray, founder, President and
COO of Bend Research Inc., a
privately held company that specializes in the research and
development of novel pharmaceutical-delivery
technologies. Ray has been with Bend Research since 1983 and holds a
bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Oregon
State University and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in
chemical engineering from the University of
Colorado-Boulder. He is a registered professional engineer
in Colorado and Oregon. Ray also serves as president of Bend
Research Pharmaceutical Process Development Inc. (BRPPD), which
is dedicated to producing clinical, toxicology, and development
pharmaceutical supplies for Pfizer.
The event will also feature an early stage company presentation
by Peter May of
SensorTrek
(www.sensortrek.com), providers of integrated remote power and
communications solutions. Early stage presentations, which
follow the keynote speaker, provide new or start-up businesses
a venue to receive feedback on products, services, marketing
strategy or other integral components of the business.
Presenters share ideas, experiences and strategies for success
with other businesses, angel investors, venture capital firms,
and OEF members.
Economic
Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) is a private, non-profit
membership organization dedicated to building a strong and
