FOUNDER
The
next Central Oregon Pub Talk will be held Thursday, March 10th
from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Pub Talk will be held at
McMenamin’s Old St. Francis School in Father Luke’s
Foundation Room (Parrish Center, 720 Bond Street, Bend). The
event is open to both Economic Development for Central Oregon
(EDCO) and OEF members (cost is $15) and non-members (cost is

Keynote speaker Mark Powell is Chairman and Founder of
HouseValues, Inc. Powell founded HouseValues in 1999 as a home
based boot-strapped start-up. HouseValues provides web based
marketing services for residential real estate professionals.
In 2003, HouseValues was named Washington State’s fastest
growing company and ranked #76 on the 2004 Inc. 500 list of
fastest growing private companies. The company went public in
December 2004 on the NASDAQ exchange under the symbol
‘SOLD’, raising $93 million. Mark was named the
Ernst & Young Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002.
He has recently relocated to Bend.
The event will also feature an early stage company presentation
by Bombshells Speakers (www.bombshellspeakers.com),
creators of high-end, hand crafted speakers. Rob Stout of Ball
Janik (www.balljanik.com) will also
present the second in a series of Legal Mini Camps for startups
on "Raising Capital Under State & Federal Securities
Laws.”
