Keynote Speaker

Richard_karlgaard.jpgRich Karlgaard is the publisher of Forbes, the magazine’s “Digital Rules” columnist, entrepreneur, and author of The Wall Street Journal best seller, Life 2.0 – How People Across America Are Transforming Their Lives by Finding the Where of Their Happiness.

Mr. Karlgaard will address “America’s Coming Heartland Boom,” outlined in his book as the balanced, technology-enabled lifestyle millions of Americans will be seeking out in the coming years. Bend is named in his book as one of the nation’s best “telecommuting heavens."

Before joining Forbes, Mr. Karlgaard cofounded the 5,000 member non-profit Churchill Club, Silicon Valley’s premier business and technology forum. He also started two magazines and sits on several boards. Mr. Karlgaard is a graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. in political science.


Capnote Speaker

Rodrigo PrudencioRodrigo Prudencio is a Partner of Nth Power, the pioneering energy venture capital firm, and is involved in all aspects of the firm’s operations including investments, investor relations, and portfolio management. He currently sits on the boards of Synapsense and Thetus.

Prior to Nth Power, Mr. Prudencio worked for the Department of State where he focused on a variety of global environmental negotiations, including preparations for the Kyoto round of the Climate Change Convention. He was also director of the international trade program at the National Wildlife Federation. Mr. Prudencio received his MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Middlebury College in Vermont.
