The visitor industry in Central Oregon is entering its second decade of growth with significant new investments being made every year. Already the Pacific Northwest's golf and destination resort mecca, new multi-$100 million resorts are being developed at Pronghorn, Smith Rock, and Powell Butte. The Oregon Tourism Commission estimates annual visitor's expenditures to be $.5 billion for the region.
